Life Ball 2009
A total of twelve bluetooth transmitters are placed at the entrances and information points of the Life Ball Charity 2009. Visitor can receive information about the program and after-show party via bluetooth.
Life Ball is Europe’s largest AIDS charity event. Begun in 1993, it takes place annually at the city hall in Vienna, Austria.

Gillette Bluetooth Campaign in Superdrug Stores Train Stations
Gillette launches bluetooth campaign in the 50 biggest Superdrug stores and 10 mainline train stations, aims to drive sales of the Gillette’s new Fusion Power Phenom razor.
In the Superdrug stores , content about the product and prize draw are transmitted via bluetooth by Gillette brand ambassadors. A 6-sheet digital campaign both directing consumers to the nearest Superdrug and advertising a prize draw will be running in train stations.
Prizes include a tailor-made Saville Row suit, an Aston Martin for the weekend or a speedboat-chaufeurred trip to a show at the O2.

Toronto Public Health use Bluetooth Technology to Disseminate Public Health Message
Last Christmas, Toronto Public Health used bluetooth proximity marketing in Toronto’s Gay Village to advertise its inSPOT service, a Web-based tool where people newly diagnosed with an STD can e-vite partners to get screened. Of 1,463 recipients reached, 317 (21.7 percent) agreed to view the message.
The department also recently used bluetooth proximity marketing to tell students in six high schools about chlamydia prevention and testing.

Phone Alerts via Bluetooth get Cocaine Warning over to Clubbers
A bluetooth marketing campaign to warn clubbers and pub-goers about the dangers of cocaine has been hailed a success and could now be rolled out across the UK by Action on Drugs and Alcohol in Edinburgh and Crew 2000.
“The potential for using this type of messaging to reach large numbers of people such as in pubs or at big events like festivals is huge. Another added effect was that some people reported that they had sent on the images and messages to friends and family, meaning that the number of people who potentially received the messages was even greater.” said Crew 2000 team leader Matt Straw.
Tom Wood, chairman of Action on Alcohol and Drugs in Edinburgh, added: “It’s second nature for us to take our phones with us when we go out, so sending messages to phones makes sense.

Orange Babies Charity Project
At the Millionaire Fair in Amsterdam, visitors approaching the Orange Babies’ stand received the bluetooth message, “Do you hear a baby crying? Let her smile again. Orange Babies”. Visitors became aware of Orange Babies projects in a unique and playful manner. It raised EUR45,000 at the fair.
Orange Babies aims to raise awareness of the HIV/AIDS problem in Africa not only in Holland, but throughout Europe. It raises money by organizing creative events such as exhibitions, fashion shows, musical and sports events.
